And for our Sixth Anniversary...

We reveled in the joys of home ownership. About five minutes after finally finishing our major repainting / re-curtaining job of the main interior of the house - a project which took around 8 weeks altogether - There was this. It started out small enough.

Yesterday, on our anniversary -

1. I found a large, strange bubble in the paint on the bathroom wall.

2. When Chris pulled in to the driveway after work, his headlights illuminated the bathroom window and he could see the water leaking to the outside of the house.

3. Chris crawled around in the attic and opened up strange secret passageways in the office walls to reveal... not much.

4. Chris went off to moonlight. My dad encouraged me to shut off the water to the house and call a plumber right away. Chris didn't think I should do anything but wait until morning. But neither MAN was actually here to DO anything, so I was left to make the final call. Because that's what I wanted to do.

5. So I called plumbers to find someone to come in the morning, and began tearing down the sheetrock (not exactly "drywall" anymore) in the bathroom to make this lovely hole in the ceiling.

6. Also, in the process, I got bathed in all the water sitting in a puddle where the hole is now. And I got it in my eyes. Mmmmm.

7. Now I'm waiting for the plumber. I *might* have actually found The Leak, a small but quick-dripping thing, but we'll wait for the plumber's final word on that.

Happy Anniversary to us! I might have preferred a nice dinner out, candlelight bath with champagne, and a massage before bed... instead of following Chris' every move around the attic at dinner, getting bathed in nasty rotten leaky ceiling water, and ripping down sheetrock....

Oh well. There's always next year! And on the bright side, Chris did bring home some beautiful flowers!!

Will keep you updated... if I don't disappear in to that hole...
