We were so glad that we were able to attend Elijah and Kirsa's Great Grandpa Don's 80th birthday party while we were in Minnesota!
We played lots of games - with perfect prizes that I scored in the dollar section at Target - including Kick the Can (which my uncle Andrew pointed out should perhaps have been Kick the Bucket instead?! - and Elijah was so wonderful to run down the alley and retrieve the cans for every single person who sent one flying), Who Can Stand on One Foot the Longest, Who Can Go the Farthest with a Cake Pan of Water on their Head (see wonderful blurry picture of my cousin Joe, who didn't even win after his brave diving maneuver - my uncle Andrew won because he bent the cake pan so it stayed on his head better - cheating is both allowed and encouraged on this side of the family), Best Monkey Imitation, and a Navy Seals war game involving teams and silly string.
It was really wonderful to see everyone and introduce them to Kirsa. She spent a good portion of the party napping in a laundry basket in my cousin Sam's closet - I so wish I had gotten a picture! She was so cute, and it fit her perfectly! My uncle Andrew was particularly wonderful with her, and she was quite happy to be carried around on his arm for hours!
We ate delicious food and really enjoyed all our time socializing together as a family. Elijah got to sit at the Big Kids Table and thoroughly enjoyed all the attention from my cousins.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Don!! It was a wonderful party!
