Today is Match Day. Congratulations to my wonderful husband - we matched in Denver for a Hematology & Oncology fellowship, to begin one year from now and last for three years - so we'll stay here four more years! I have no doubt that we got it because of the time and energy Chris has put into his work in the Internal Medicine program here over the last three years - it's been a major commitment for him and for us.
I am so excited! and for this moment, anyway, it makes it worth all the long days, longer nights, numerous research projects, and 30+ hour call shifts of the last three years. Here's to another three years of that in fellowship, yes? :)
Four more years of downhill skiing, hiking, driving up the mountains, living in this wonderful house that we're putting so much work into (oh yes, and I get my countertops and he gets his car when he finds it, too), playing at the zoo, attending our cute little preschool - and Elijah will start kindergarten at the elementary school just 3 blocks from our house! - driving to Boulder to stroll up and down Pearl Street, attending our wonderful church... I'm rambling... so many things are coming into my head all at once!
I'm just thrilled. I had prepared myself for another grand adventure (which could have been really something, had we not matched at all and had to scramble instead!) but I am so pleased that we matched here!

Now... how to celebrate?
